Recently, Laura let me borrow the book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and it has inspired me to try to grow some of my own food. Living in an apartment in a big city has made that a little difficult, so I picked this basil plant up at the farmers market yesterday as a way to get started. I guess it’s kind of cheating because it was already big and healthy to begin with but come on, it’s a start.
Oh, and any good basil recipes would be much appreciated.

One of these days (tomorrow) I’ll learn how to use my new camera properly. Till then, here’s a pleasantly blurry photo of G snuggling with Tristan. She also snuggled a lot with Mary. A lot of belly rubs were cadged from both. Then Tristan wrestled with her vigorously, including with the giant prawn who has been mentioned here previously. G is now passed on on account of exertion.
